Macbook Hardware question. Lid won't fully close.

I need to have my MacBook Pro serviced for a lid that won't fully close. Likely a swollen battery. The chat guy mentioned repair options. What might I actually expect?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.13

Well, once you've opened a repair ticket, Apple will need to examine the device which means you will need to take it to the Genius Bar and/or ship it to Apple. Once they've determined the problem, they'll let you know how much it would be. Costs vary depending on what needs to be done and whether or not you are still covered by warranty.

In any case, make sure you have a working backup before you send it in.
