Unable to activate Apple Cash: "Could Not Set Up Apple Pay"

I have Apple Pay set up on my phone, but I accidentally turned of Apple Cash and it is now presenting me with this error: "Could Not Set Up Apple Pay, an error occurred while setting up Apple Pay"

I have tried EVERYTHING. Restarting my phone, signing in and out of Apple ID, changing my region, resetting network settings, resetting phone, verifying I have a network connection, turning phone on and off, etc. I've tried everything online, and nothing is working. It is working on my Apple Watch, but not my phone! I am updated to iOS 15.1 as well, which as of 11/11/2021 it is up to date. Help!!

Got it, thanks for those details and taking the additional steps. Here are a few other steps to take that may help:

  1. Have you tried connecting to a different network to rule out possible connectivity issues? That would be a good next step to take.
  2. Make sure you are using the same Apple ID account on both your watch and iPhone.
  3. Checking that the Date & Time are correct on your device would be good too. You check that by going to Settings > General > Date & Time.
  4. If you normally connect to a VPN, disconnect from it while setting up.
  5. Assure that your zip code is accurate under Settings > [your name] > Payment & Shipping.

Let us know if this behavior continues after taking these steps and we can investigate further. Have a good evening.

Thanks for getting back to us, Amusiing.

Since this issue is only occurring on one of your devices and working on another, it's likely not an account cause. Let's see if we can rule out some common issues on the iPhone. Let's continue by taking the following steps, which may help with this unexpected behavior: restart your iPhone, make sure it is up to date and close the Apple Pay app and reopen it.

1. Restart your iPhone

2. Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

3. Close an app on your iPhone or iPod touch

Let us know if that helps with this issue at all. We'll wait to hear back. Take care.
