Hi
My Apple TV 4th Gen, will play sound via HDMI & into my surround.
I can also select our Sonos Roam via Airplay, also works fine.
However when I select the Sonos the HDMI sound is stops, I would like both to run simultaneously.
I can achieve this via my iPad but everything I have read suggests it should work straight off my AppleTV, there is even a function within Apple TV to sync your wired & wireless speakers.
A fix would be great?

You can select multiple audio outputs for music and audio-only sources. The audio from video sources is intended to go to one audio output.

I would expect a turn off of the former audio output if the new speaker was connecting over Bluetooth, but not for AirPlay. As Sonos Roam supports both Bluetooth and AirPlay, do you have any indication which connection method is actually used?
Yeah it’s definitely over airplay as I have never paired this speaker for Bluetooth.
I can get both the Apple TV & Sonos to run if I push Airplay out of my iPad or iPhone.
just won’t allow both on the AppleTV , very strange
Thanks, but I can only select one at a time on my Apple TV, when I select both (which it allows) the audio to the TV turns off
