iPhone XR and water resistance

So fortunately I learned today that my iPhone XR red happens to be water resistant I must’ve dozed off while in the bathtub and with the phone in my hand and dropped it in water I was awakened by my alarm going off From underneath the water so everything I’ve read has told me that this phone is water resistant watch I must agree considering I am typing this question with that said phone three minutes after coming out of the water so Onto my actual question I read also never to charge a wet iPhone so tell me what do you do with that iPhone to make it dry before you charge it? And how long should I wait to charge it?

Charging a wet iPhone is not recommend as you can damage certain components - generally you should dry the phone thoroughly with a cloth and leave it sit for 1-2 hours before charging again.

If there is moisture in the charging port you will receive a message like this.

Also while your phone may be water resistant you should still keep it out of water as much as you can - it’s not invincible and water damage isn’t covered under warranty.
