Assuming your iPhone is in warranty I think so is the warranty of included genuine apple accessories, I have heard of people taking cables into apple stores and getting instant exchanges but again I am not sure of how true this is.

Your best bet is probably just sending apple support a message regarding accessory support and just pop the question and they should be able to tell you the specifics and help you out!
