Apple Watch Braided Solo Loop band stretches out-no longer usable

Read some threads from folks who've experienced what I have. In a short time my Apple Watch braided solo loop band stretched to the point where the watch face slips underneath-now useless. Apple won't cover it under AppleCare.

Has anyone tried shrinking these bands back to size, like putting it through hot in washer/dryer (or any other method)?

Follow-up to yesterday's comment.

Following the advice of someone else on this board, I put the braided loop band through a very hot wash & dry cycle. It did shrink the band, not back to snug but at least to the point where the watch face isn't slipping under my arm when I turn my wrist.

What may be good news, I went on Amazon and there's dozens and dozens of bands for sale by many different makers, and very inexpensive ($10 vs $100). No doubt none have the typical Apple quality, but if I buy a band for $15 and it breaks in six months, I can live with getting another one. It was paying $100 and having the Apple version rendered unusable by normal wear within six months (and Apple's refusal to make good on it) that really bugged me.

Your mileage may vary - but if anyone has a better solution I'm all ears.
