how do i find to what version my MacOS is on my MacPro laptop?

Simply click on the Apple logo in the upper left-hand side of the macOS menu bar. Then select "About This Mac." The macOS version will be listed on the popup window.

You may also find the common name of your computer, and model-year.

The Mac Pro silver towers weigh 42 lbs and are a litte tough to lug around.
