How do I retrieve my folders from MacMail

How do I retrive my folders from MacMail. I know about the "Hide/Show" thing it's not working. I recently had put in a new HD and reloaded my whole computer to it from an external drive that Time Machine was backing up too.

All the info I've read tells me the folders should have reappeared as MacMail does not erase or delete the folders. I'm on a 27" 2014 iMac, using Mojave. Help.

I did have 2 folders appear under an email I have, and they were empty.

Start with this...

Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at startup), does the problem occur in Safe Mode? Could take 10 minutes.

Safe mode attempts to repair Disks & clears lots of caches & loads safe Drivers, & prevents loading of 3rd party extensions, so if Safe Mode works try again in regular boot.

Look in...

~ tilde indicates  your home folder

Apple hid the Users' Library folders...

Method 1:

  1. From the Finder, select the Go menu at top of the screen, and choose Go to Folder.
  2. In the window that opens, enter ~/Library, and click Go.

~/Library/Mail/

What V* folders are showing?

Is your account POP or IMAP?

Yes this is how it looks. I just created the USAA. The Vegas & Nextdoor folders were showing. All my emails work.

Also below is what I'm seeing when I follow going into the Library/mail, >found V folder >found files> found box files.

I opened all the folders and found no additional folders that relate to my missing folders. Wish we could talk on the phone.

Thanks for spending time on this problem.

I tried the safe boot and nothing changed still no folders. Also I'm not sure what would take 10 minutes.

Method 1

There were 6 folders showing, 5 had numbers and 1 said Mail data

Did you see my previous reply? I have 3 accounts that are IMAP (with Comcast) and 1 that is POP (Verio)

Note: Mail will allow me to create New Folders.
