Junk

Why does my email periodically end up in junk--both my junk and the recipients' junk? This problem occurs from time to time. I use both iCloud.com and also the Mail program. It happens with one or the other and I can't seem to remember which one is the culprit! Maybe they alternate to give me trouble? I have had to alert my recipients to check their junk but I have a hard enough time to remember to look there so I don't blame them for not looking. My Mac is running OS Monterey version 12.01.

Thanks,

iMac 21.5″, macOS 12.0

We ned to find out if it's the server marking them junk or your Mac.

To see if it's your provider, What's my ip...

Start with these three, check SpamCop or SpamHaus to see if your IP is there...

Sometimes an ISP will bloc a whole other ISP too, if it's the source of too much SPAM.

I learned my iCloud address is blocked from this IP address by one of those servers, so is there anything I can do to unblock it? If I send mail from a different computer will it get blocked too? What's odd is that my mail is only blocked sometimes, not all the time. Do I need to start using a different email address like gmail or charter?

Regarding my blocked IP as mentioned above: I just learned about Apple Private Relay that hides IP addresses so I turned that on. Hope it solves my problem but I won't know for sure because this is an intermediate issue. Private Relay is a beta thing so is there any reason I should be suspicious about it? Will it cause other unforeseen problems down the road?

Thanks,

Junk
