Connect beats flex to windows pc

Has anyone else had this problem. I follow all the connection protocols in the instructions and apple and beat website andy computer which is only 2 yrs old with the latest software will not recognise the ear phones. Because we tried using the earphones we cannot return them. However we did not expect such incompatibility issues.
