Nintendo Switch and MacBook Pro (2021) connection

I'm trying to connect a Nintendo Switch to my MacBook Pro (2021) via the built-in HDMI port. I want to simply use the screen on my 16" as a display for my Switch, but my MacBook Pro isn't recognizing the Switch when it is plugged in. Thoughts? Thanks.

30 Inch Cinima HD Display and a new Mac Mini Hi, I own an older 30 inch Apple Cinema HD Display which I use with my Mac Pro (old cheese grater/2012). I am thinking about buying a new Mac Mini and I want to be able to use the same keyboard/mouse and my 30 inch Cinema HD Display. I would like to be able to switch between the two computers while using the same keyboard/mouse and video display. I know there is something called a KVM switch that does this, however the Cinema Display has a DVI (I think that's what its called) connection and the Mac Mini has an HDMI. I have been unable to find a switcher that has both connection types and was told if I use an adapter that it might look wonky. Any ideas are appreciated! One other question, can you stick an additional SSD in the new Mac mini? (upgrade them down the road)? Thanks! Gary

Macbook Pro M1Max to 30" cinema display I have a new MacBook Pro M1 Max. I'm trying to connect to my older 30" cinema display. I'm using the HDMI out via a HDMI to DVI adapter and a USB-C to USB adapter. The MacBook sees the display but the image is just yellow/green vertical bands that are sort of strobing. Do I need to get a USB-C to Display port adapter and use the AV adapter I used on my old MacBook pro?

Macs are not displays, and their HDMI ports are not usable as an INPUT.

What you are describing may seem simple, but the speed of the data and maintaining its timing make a solution impossible.

Use a TV set or a stand-alone display.
