The iPhone is stuck on the logo - Full usage memory

The iPhone is stuck on the logo. The memory state of the iPhone is full. After connecting to iTunes in an attempt to back up the data. iTunes performed a process of updating the operating system when there was not enough free memory.

Since iTunes fails to complete the system software download process it only allows me to boot to factory mode i.e. delete all the data on the device.

What can be done to avoid deleting the data?

Hi eliben1,

Thank you for using the Apple Support Communities! We understand your iPhone is not booting past the Apple logo and you were unable to perform a successful backup of your data to your computer. You're now wondering if there is a way to restore the device without deleting data.

We can see you've already reviewed: If you see an error when you update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod. Another relevant article to your issue is If your iPhone won't turn on or is frozen.

As for preventing data loss, at this point it's not likely, based on your description. If you were unable to perform a backup prior to this event, one won't be successful at it now. You'll still continue to have access to any data that was being synced to iCloud prior to the event, however: Apps and features that use iCloud

Best regards.
