Apple TV 4th Generation

I have been an Apple client since 2010. All of my devices are Apple. I'm a full time member - I'm in, I drank the Kool-Aid. So, why is it then that I have to re-purchase the Apple TV 4th Gen? This is an upgrade to a product I ALREADY OWN. We aren't charged for system upgrades on our IOS when they are required. Whats the difference? This is an upgrade like any other. It's pretty ridiculous. I'm slowly beginning to feel gauged. And leaning more and more towards Android. (the lightning cord plug on IPHONE for headphones was the beginning).

Dude, An Apple TV 4th generation has the App Store and the ability to add Disney +. Please identify your Apple TV using Identify your Apple TV model and you will likely find you do not have an Apple TV 4th generation.


If you have an Apple TV 1, 2 or 3 then no those models are quite obsolete and do not have the App Store available.

Apple TV is hardware, just like Macs, iPhones, iPads, etc. Your 1st gen box simply does not have the electronic guts to support the current software, just as older iPhones can’t run the latest version of iOS. And by the way, making threats will almost always get you ignored. None of us here are Apple employees as these are user-to-user forums.
