Set HomePod Location as Mailing Address

Why on earth can’t I just set my physical mailing address as my “location” for HomePod?

Every other major smart assistant speaker has this functionality (e.g., Alexa, Google). The only reason I can think of or believe is that Apple is dead-set on building up their crowd-sourced wifi/Bluetooth location service (which I don’t want to use)

Please, Apple, just let us set our mailing address (or any other address, for that matter) as our HomePod’s location.
