Business Marked Permanently Closed on Maps

Recently, we noticed that our business was marked "permanently closed" on Maps. We've never closed. 25 years in business, with 12 at the current location.

I am the only one that looks after our online presence and this change was not done by me.

Can strangers do this? Competitors?

I did the usual "report issue" but it's been a while with no change. I also (a few days ago) "claimed the business" and verified it.

I just got an email from Apple saying I was now "verified". SWEET!

I thought I could then log on and edit it. All I could edit was "permanently closed" to "open".

None of the hours I had entered on my phone app have been changed.

Just how much "edit" are we actually able to do when logged in to "places on maps"?

(p.s. the "topic" was required, but Maps doesn't appear there)
