6 month old ipod touch battery is junk

32g Gen 7 iPod model #mvht2ll/A, and currently running 14.8.1

I bought this iPod new back on May 27th 2021 and it's been running great until a few

days ago when now the battery goes dead after 2-3 hrs. no matter if I'm

using it, put to sleep, or completely turn it off. I've tried factory re-setting it, and that offered no help either.

I'd sure like to think that paying $200 for it, it should have a warranty covering such a thing, right?
