HOW DO I DELETE EXCEL ...AND THEN RE-INSTALL AGAIN?...my excel seems to have gone ''mad'' opening every document I have on my MacBook Pro , running on Monterey. I deleted the app, but when I open an excel file, it re-appears again? I use MS Excel for work purposes and I need the program to work...can someone help?

Excel is trying to open non .xlsx files I recently updated my MS Excel to 16.73 and when I try to open the program, it immediately tries to open files in my documents folder, regardless of the document format, and I get a string of pop up boxes telling me a file isn't compatible with Excel. I deleted the program as advised, restarted the MacBook, reinstalled, and same thing. Tonight I downloaded the Excel update, which claimed to have bug fixes, and it is the same thing. Is there a way to delete not just the app but also the file associated with the app and start completely fresh, meaning that it says "Get" in the app store as opposed to having the download cloud? No issues with Word or Powerpoint, but Excel is essentially useless now. Upgrading to Ventura made no difference whatsoever. Thanks.

Hidden Old Excel Application Hi...I have an old version of Microsoft Excel hiding somewhere in my iMac and I can't seem to find it. I just bought the new Microsoft Office Home & Student version this morning. When it checked for updates after I installed the apps it seems to keep trying to update the old Excel also? I have attached a photo of the error that keeps coming up. Thanks

Unistall Microsoft Applications securely and completely I understand that by dragging and dropping files to TRASH the files are deleted. MS 365 has so many files I may not find them all. Is there a UNINSTALL app for Mac that will perform a complete uninstall? I wish to perform the UNINSTALL prior to installing a new version of Excel. I do not use any other MS feature except Excel. MacBook Air M2 2022 OS Ventura 13.2

In summary, delete and reinstall from Microsoft's web site. Most likely, you will then have to reregister Excel to use it.

Of course. If Excel is an app that you use occasionally, (and since you paid for it) there should be no reason to remove it.
