My McAfee Total Protection Security Software is no longer working since I downloaded MacOS Monterey V. 12.0.1 on my MacBook Pro 13 inch, M1, 2020, 8G. McAfee can't seem to resolve. HELP, please. TYIA.

Since there are no viruses these apps use up a lot of system resources searching for what is non-existent and adversely affect system and app performance.
There is one app, Malwarebytes, which was developed by a long time contributor to these forums and a highly respected member of the computer security community, that is desshoigned solely to seek out adware and known malware and remove it. The free version is more than adequate for most users.
So uninstall the McAfee software according to the developer's instructions.

Do not use third party antivirus apps on your Mac. Your Mac has built-in security and protection.
