How to free up “backups” iCloud storage?

When I go under “manage storage” in iCloud it says my backup is using over 150GB but when I click on that It takes me to just one backup that’s 66GB in size. What is using up the rest of the storage and how do I delete it?

iPhone 13 Pro Max, iOS 15

Hi flavio24,

We'd like to help however we can. We understand that it's showing 150GB is being used for backups in your iCloud storage, but it only shows a 66GB backup saved in iCloud. Let's start with some basics:

  1. Have you already tried a restart? If not, this link shows how to Restart your iPhone.
  2. We see that you have iOS 15 installed, but the latest version is iOS 15.1. You can verify this within Settings > General > About. Here's a link that'll show how to first back up, then Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
  3. Do you recall when this first began to occur?

Cheers!
