Macbook Air Live Video Output is dark despite professional lighting setup

Hi. I teach online live classes. I just bught a new macbook air. I have been connecting my external camera to it with a video capture card device to livestream my class on Zoom and Streamyard. This is what I was doing on my old laptop as well which was not a macbook. Unfortunately ever since I switched to the macbook air the video output of my livestream/recording is very dark even though I use a professional lighting setup. At first I thought maybe the lights I was using weren’t enough. Then I switched back to my old laptop to test it and the video output became better again light wise. I think maybe it is a setting in my macbook air that needs to be changed. Can someone please guide me on what to do?

Hello JIMedia1,

We understand that you have some concerns with the output of your MacBook Air. We'd recommend that you check for updates that may be available for your external camera and capture card for Mac, as the software can differ from PCs.

The Mac doesn't have specific video output settings outside of what would be in software that you're using, so checking with the devices that you're using will be the best next step.
