Space Bar Not Working with Excel and or Word 365

I find at times that the Space Bar will stop working on my MagicKeyboardon my iMac 2015 with Word and Excel 365.

Thisisalso is an issue now on Safari as I type this. (note my lack of spaces is due to the keyboard and not my effort to put in spaces)

I have an iMac 2015 27 ", Monterey 12.0.1,

I have tried to turn the keyboard on and off, I also have restarted the iMac in those cases it has not resolved the issue. This has happened more than once. One time an iMac restart helped, I say that as at other times it has not helped.

This has started after updating to Monterey as I recall.
