Can anyone recommend a hard drive recovery service? One that will physically try to repair an Apple SATA 3TB internal hard drive that has failed? Software recovery efforts have proved futile.

There are many services out there but most are very expensive (IMO). I'm assuming that you have no backup?

Please expect to pay in the high 4 figures to mid 5 figures to recover some data. This is another reason why backing up and even duplicate and triplicate backups are wise. They are far less expensive, reduce stress and are much easier to deal with.
The last time I checked (about 15 years ago) I was quoted about $35,000 to recover about 1TB of data. Needless to say, I cried for awhile and then became a redundant backup proponent.
Most of us who post on these forums have seen the horrors involved without adequate backups. We generally are backed up pretty well and have no need of recovery services, so might not have firsthand knowledge.
I have only partial backups and I know that recovery services are expensive.
