how do you delete the recent software to make room for the newest software?

Typically you don’t have to delete any software to update it.

If you are trying to upgrade the OS and the system tells you that you don’t have the space for it, then you need to delete enough user data to accommodate the upgrade.

What are you trying to accomplish?
