Make Windows 11 Bootable USB on Mac Monterey

My Dell PC was crashed after installing the latest Nvidia graphics driver and could not boot into desktop with blue screen death. I am wondering what is the correct way to create Windows bootable USB on Mac? I am a big confused now.

I have a 2020 M1 MacBook Air running macOS Monterey 12.0.1. The sad thing is that I could not find Boot Camp Assistant app any more. I just want to install Windows 11 on my PC to fix the issue.

So what is your suggestion, Oceanicopping?

As far as I know, there are only two easy ways to create Windows 11 bootable USB on Mac (no command involved). The first one is via Windows virtual machine. Once setting it up, there are many free tools available to make Windows 11 installation media.

The second way is via UUByte ISO Editor. You can create a bootable USB on your Mac without additional steps. Only a few clicks to finish the job. It fully supports Intel and Apple Silicon Mac. If the install.wim file was too large, this app will split it automatically by default.

You can check the official link from here: https://www.uubyte.com/create-windows-11-bootable-usb-on-mac.html

BTW, there is no error when burning Windows 11 ISO with Unetbootin but the USB is not recognized as a bootable device.
Are you sure you had the USB stick properly formatted? I think Windows 11 installer requires a GUID partition scheme since it is a UEFI boot system.

MBR is still fine as the Windows 11 hardware checking can be bypassed with some hacks.

This is not surprising, because Unetbootin has some restrictions, and the official has not given a clear solution.

What kind of restrictions? Could you please elaborate a bit more.

Thanks

All I know, the USB is not recognized as a bootable device, maybe your USB is formatted as NTFS.

BTW, it seems difficult for Unetbootin to be supported to install Windows 10 64 bit because the FAT32 file system in UNetbootin cannot support the size of Windows files.

Does Windows 11 run on ARM? If BOOTCAMP isn’t available on M1, it is because Windows didn’t run on ARM-based computers.

I am not sure about that but Windows 10 can run on M1 Mac as it has a ARM version. In my case, I just want to create a Windows 11 bootable USB so that I can install Windows 11 on my PC not my Mac.

You said you couldn't find Bootcamp Assistant. I was just explaining why it may not exist on an M1 Mac. The fact that you don't need to run Windows on your Mac is irrelevant. If there is no supported Windows version that can run on ARM, there is no reason to include BootCamp Assistant on an M1 Mac.
