M1 MacBook Pro USB-C Ports Faulty?

ALL: USB-C ports on this brand new M1 MacBook Pro (2021) don't always recognize devices or adaptors (note that they're all Apple products and not third-party accessories). One port won't recognize an iPhone or external keyboard; another port works with one USB-C adaptor but not others; plugging a device into another port prompts a machine restart. Other issues, too.

Is this unique to this machine requiring a repair or is anyone else experiencing?
