I have a 2018 macbook air with Monterey installed and I bought Minecraft on Minecraft.net,and it opened the folder Minecraft .msi and my Mac would not download it, it said "open application to install Minecraft.msi or download it in the App Store" I tried everything, I gave up I would like to play java on my Mac

Let's see what we can find out together. The Minecraft software you purchased, did it say it was compatible with macOS Monterey? The error message you are getting says the application is not compatible. A .msi file format is compatible to Microsoft.
