How do I know if I have a iMac with silicon?

Apple menu > About This Mac.

If the "Processor" line on that mentions Intel then it is not Apple silicon.

currently the only iMac with the M1 processor is the new 2021 24 inch iMac. if that's not your machine, you have an intel processor.
