photo library share with external drive gets "unknown error (3)"

photo library share with external drive gets "unknown error (3)" when I try to move the video to an external drive to save space.

MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 11.6

Hi

Take one of the small files that won't export:

Try export unmodified original.

If that doesn't work, see if it is possible to open the video for editing (select then hit enter)

Also try image>revert to original

Try restarting mac in safe mode, and then trying - restart normally and try again.

Here is what the screen is telling me.

The External Hard Drive is WD My Book, which I have already transferred 254 videos today, but it will not transfer the other 300, most of which are small 1-5 minutes long, with a couple of them being very large ones (1-2 hrs long). There doesn't seem to be a pattern between those that downloaded and those that didn't.

All are IMG_xxxx.MOV.

Size seems to be irrelevant.

What format is the external drive?

And how are you movign the video?

There is a bug in some versions that won't allow export to external drives with a non apple format. Export it to your desktop first then drag to the external drive.

Also use file>export rather than drag/drop.
