iPhone fixing

I saw a thing on the news about Apple repair ability. If I buy my son an iPhone 13 for Christmas and he breaks it a few months later, can I replace the screen myself?

You may be able to. This is a statement from Apple --> Apple announces Self Service Repair - Apple

It has not been officially rolled out yet and there's much we'll need to learn. Whether this is something you'd want to take on yourself, is another thing. Even if I could buy parts from Apple, I would personally never try to do a repair on my iPhone.
