Charging the iPhone 13

The new iPhone 13 comes with a charging cable that will not work with my old brick. No brick is provided with the iPhone 13. How am I supposed to charge the phone? Do I have to buy an accessory to charge the phone???

Thank you. This solution works!

I was led to believe that my existing cable and brick would not work, since Apple provided a new cable with the iPhone 13 that has a different connector. This new cable is of no use to me, since I have no charging devices with this new connector style.

Why would Apple provide half of a charging solution? Why not include something in setup or in the box to let users know that lightning cables and bricks from older iPhones will work with the iPhone 13? Apple knew I had an iPhone 8, as I am trading it in with the purchase of this new iPhone.

Apple could have saved even more money and e-clutter by providing neither the cable or the brick.

You're welcome.

Apple stoped including chargers to reduce clutter and for environmental considerations. I guess a cable is still considered a necessity.

Do note Apple is moving to that new type of connector called USB-C on all its devices. Most new iPads have that type of connector. All new Macs have that connector. The traditional USB-A type connector will be going away. So having a cable that can connect to devices now and in the future is a good thing.
