I don’t think I need to be purchasing extra iCloud each month for .99 cents. I have a iPhone 12 Pro now

Why am I being charged .99 cents per month for iCloud? I have a $1200 iPhone 12 Pro. Apple has been charging me this fee for years now. I also have a MacBook 16” . Do I still need this protection?

thank you

If you have less than 5GB of data on iCloud then you can reduce it to the free storage in

Settings, your name, iCloud, Manage storage, Change storage plan.

If you have more than 5GB, or if you have iCloud Photos turned on then you will still need the 50GB until you change your use of iCloud.
