Depending on your location or region, the concept and route to trade-in a previously owned

Apple product may vary; to say the least. ~ As fellow owners, users of Apple; & as Volunteers

all our opinions or advisement, may not be on the mark in your situation.

This 'community' has been end users and others who can be helpful. While its up to you, for

most part, to contact a suitable Apple intake and evaluation center, for product repurposing.

..And that also includes ones too old for trade-in; who may be destined for recycling.

As a worldwide business, frames of reference vary; according to regions and local customs.

Here in north America, the situation has its own variety. I'd not trade-in personally, instead

would seek to get best local value from an authorized-Apple reseller, & who may refurbish.

Some of those 'may or not' be positioned to purchase, after evaluation, previous-owned Mac.

A regional Apple affiliation could send a return parcel box, as part of a trade-in service.

Or you could make arrangement with an affiliate or regional authorized reseller to take

your older Mac toward a trade-in. As those are independent AASP or product retailers.

In some instances your options may include contacting local resellers who may see repeat

customers as a shared opportunity. ~ They may see previously-owned product to refurbish;

fix to resell. Or, send to another business who does that; and they may discount new one.

(Or however their business situation may dictate terms to their need and yours, there.)

You may contact an Apple store or reseller to see how they handle locally generated trade-ins.
