Latest version of Java are does not open

Hi,

Trying to install Unify Controller that requires the latest version of Java. I'm on an iMac iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2019) operating Mac OSX Big Sur v11.6 and got the jre-8u311-macosx-x64.dmg file from Oracle. When I double-click on it nothing happens?

You'll need to install Java as it's no longer supported by Apple.

Nothing happens? Nothing whatsoever? It should open and mount a DMG with the Java installer. You will need to navigate to the mounted disk image using the Finder and double-click the installer to install Java.
