watch 7 does not show update to 8.1.1

My new Apple Watch 7 was updated to watch os 8.1. iPhone 12 Pro has os 15.1.1. I go to watch app on phone / general / software update and it tells me 8.1 is latest version.

WatchOS 8.1.1 just came out. Be patient. It may take some time for the iPhone/watch to get synchronized with the Apple servers.
