watch 7 does not show update to 8.1.1

My new Apple Watch 7 was updated to watch os 8.1. iPhone 12 Pro has os 15.1.1. I go to watch app on phone / general / software update and it tells me 8.1 is latest version.

Research done today found apple watch software 8.1.1 is only for the Cellular version not the WiFi watch 7.

WatchOS 8.1.1 just came out. Be patient. It may take some time for the iPhone/watch to get synchronized with the Apple servers.

I have the same experience, no watchos 8.1.1 on my iPhone for my Watch 7.
