Messages autocorrecting the letter Y

With the latest update, when I get a business’s text message to enter Y to confirm an appointment and I type Y, the Y I type keeps getting replaced by a T with autocorrect. I looked in my phone’s text replacement settings and don’t see anything in there for replacing the letter Y with the letter T. I don’t want to turn off autocorrect altogether but this is really annoying. Anyone know what’s going on and how to fix it?

Hello Nonamesavailable12,

Thank you for posting in the Apple Support Communities. We understand that Auto-Correction isn't working as expected on your iPhone, and we'd like to provide you with support.

First, do you have multiple keyboards installed on your iPhone? If so, try removing them, then adding them back. This step can sometimes refresh those installed keyboards.

Add or change keyboards on iPhone

Also, force quitting the Messages app and restarting your iPhone sound simple, but these steps can also resolve some unique issues.

Restart your iPhone

Close an app on your iPhone or iPod touch

From there, check to see if setting up a text replacement for the letter "Y" helps you get the desired result.

We hope this information is useful. Kind regards.
