how can I update my Macbook pro , it is now having iOS 10.13.6 and for a couple of app updates, I need iOS 11.xx
But I'm not so handy and I don't know how I can update this. On my iPhone and iPads, the new updates appear automatically, but on my laptop it doesn't.
please help ;-(

Create a backup
Scroll down to the section that says "use safari to download macos'
It all depends on your Mac and how old it is. It may just be its not eligible to update.

Upgrading the macOS:
Verify Compatibility:
What's the model of your Mac? Verify the compatibility. If you cannot upgrade past High Sierra, then it is just not an option. This is because your Mac does not meet the hardware requirements to use Mojave

II. Compare the Results:
See if the Model you found is shown here: macOS Big Sur is Compatible with these Computers - Apple Support
Back up your data, check your applications for compatibility, and if your MacBook Pro model is recent enough, click on Mojave, Catalina, Big Sur, or Monterey. It needs to be at least a late 2013 one to run Big Sur and those updates.
For reference, Macs run macOS, not iOS.

Thanks all for your fast responses! It worked out, I now have Mac OS Monterey 12.0.1 on my MacBook Pro - 13 inch - early 2015. happy with it!
