Hi, I do not rip CDs into iTunes, I create background tracks for my band. I name each background track. I import them into iTunes and it keeps renaming them! I need the names to stay the same, as this is the only way to keep my live set list organized. I have already changed all the preferences available. Help please!!!!

iTunes has two features (iTunes > Preferences > Advanced) that affect what happens with tracks you add to the library. Keep iTunes Media folder organized will rename files inside the media folder to reflect their metadata. Copy to iTunes Media folder makes a copy of any track added from outside the media folder, and makes the copy reflect the metadata. If you have information captured in the filename, and your tracks don't necessarily have the type of metadata that iTunes expects (track name, number, artist, and album as a minimum) then you may expect to find that the tracks can be renamed in a way that you don't want. Turn off the Keep & Copy options as appropriate, and/or store your background tracks outside of the media folder.
