Hello cafox513,

From your post it is not clear what you are trying to accomplish.

The article that you came from, Use widgets on your iPhone and iPod touch, explains how to use widgets.

By definition, "Widgets show you current information from your favorite apps at a glance." They are programs that allow you to quickly see information instead of having to open the app.

If you can provide additional information about what you are trying to accomplish, perhaps others here can help with a solution.

Have a good day.

Thanks for the response. I didn't know enough to write a clearer question, but have now looked into it.

I know, for instance, what I want is beyond the native Apple widget app to handle.

I want to add a photo of my Covid 19 vaccinations to a widget on my iPhone. I've read that Widgetsmith (?) would let me add a photo to an existing (?) widget. But when I tried to follow the instructions I found, I couldn't get very far. There was no was to fit the photo to the default sizes and shapes. Also, the instructions were shaky at best. Too many people seem to believe that a step-by-step layout if sufficient, when knowing Why to take a step can be even more important.
