My watch didn't detect a hard fall that sent me to hospital with a head injury. It has however detected falls when I didn't fall. Got the watch specifically for the fall feature. Anybody else have this problem?

What version of watchOS do you have? If it is watchOS 7 (as your tag says), try updating your watch. WatchOS 8.1 has enhanced algorithms to detect falls during workouts and option to enable fall detection during workouts only (Apple Watch Series 4 and later). For more info, see:
