Hi,

You can absolutely purchase AppleCare+ for the affected product, as long as the agreement is purchased within 60 days of the product’s purchase date.

This can be done via

Since you bought the device for your sister, its important that you ensure the Agreement Registration is tied to her name or Apple ID.

If you are interested in purchasing the upfront contract, i would suggest doing so via the device Settings.

If you are interested in monthly, purchase it using any of the referenced platforms listed above.

* For monthly, it is VERY IMPORTANT that she is signed in with HER Apple ID, not yours, as the agreement links to the Apple ID in order to bill on a monthly basis. It also can then be managed within Subscription Settings. Once linked to an Apple ID, even if it is the incorrect Apple ID, the agreement cannot be “unlinked” from that Apple ID.

Best of luck!
