it has a built in eSIM, and shares the iPhone’s phone number. In the U.S. Carriers that support the iPhone charge a $10 monthly fee for this service.
There is also the Apple Watch Family Plan, so dependent children can be managed by a parents iPhone. There is a larger monthly fee for the child’s separate phone number.
