I can not hear my own voice when talking on the phone. What can I do?

I am not able to hear my own voice when talking on the phone. Is there a setting I need to change? Thank you.

That’s true of any cell phone. On old landlines the phone internally fed your mic back to your earpiece, a feature known as “sidetone”. But no cell phones do that, because there is a delay of a second or so between your voice and what the person on the other end hears, and if that got fed back to you it would be too confusing as you would hear whatever you said a second later.
