iPhone 13 Mini Dual SIM - Roaming costs on wrong SIM
Hi Community!
I have an iPhone 13 Mini with a regular SIM (primary provider) and an eSIM (secondary provider) that I only use for roaming purposes.
On my last trip abroad, despite setting "Mobile Data" to my secondary provider I incurred into roaming costs on my primary provider. The charges were minimal, in the order of 2,75KB sent data / 4,60KB received data per day. Since it was my first trip with a dual SIM, I was using the primary provider's app daily, to double-check that I was not charged for roaming.
I am trying to understand how these charges incurred:
- Can one app (the primary provider's app) cause data usage on a specific SIM, even if it's not the one selected for "Mobile Data"?
- Are there any iOS services (iMessage?) that run on a specific SIM's data plan, instead of the one specified in "Mobile Data"?
Please also note that "Allow Mobile Data Switching" was disabled.
Thanks
Alessandro
