I'm gifting my MacBook to the grandson and looking at a new iPad, I use google sheets a lot and don't fancy using my stubby fingers to drag the cells etc. Will the Apple Pencil act like my finger, only doing what a cursor would do and nothing else. Might sound simple to tech people, but not a 70 year old.
I am NOT sure about any dragging/editing capabilities with the Pencil in any Google apps.
I do believe you can NOT DO ANY actual edits in any Google apps
I was only able to test and make selections, navigate around the documents/notes and get the copy menu in Google Drive.
I was NOT able to actually move any text content around.
I thnk you may need to bring Google Sheet content into an actual app on your iPad, like the Apple Numbers app or Microsoft Excel or some other third party spreadsheet app to do actual edits of a Google Sheets file.
The Pencil SHOULD work for some basic navigation and selection ( for cut/copy/paste ) in Google Sheets.
It does for my text documents in Google Drive.
Not sure if it will do anything more than that.
