White box with word “DRAFT” at lower left hand side of Mail screen - how to remove this?

You have previously started to draft an email, but haven’t finished and sent the mail. Just swiping the draft-mail tab upwards should open the tab - where you can either finish or close the window.

Another option is to open the draft from your Draft Mail folder - and then close/delete the draft.

Just hold both the off button and the home button until the Apple icon appears and then release and wait about 30 seconds for the iPad to reboot and it will disappear. Just turning the iPad off did not remove the problem.

Find the mail icon and touch and “briefly” hold until a window pops up. From that screen select the option to “show all windows”. After the open windows populate swipe upwards to close each one. Now you should be good to go! (Hint: do not hold the icon for too long as this will ALL icons to vibrate in preparation for deletion. Just a brief touch will bring the options window forward. The only thing I have found that solves the problem of the big white box that says "Draft" at the top and blocks my view of the lower left side of my email is to exit email and turn my iPad all the way off and then turn it on again, i.e. to reboot the iPad. This has worked for me.

Powering down then restarting worked for me

I found powering off iPad and restarting, cleared it.

All previous responses did not work for me, so I just powered off and then restarted. It cleared that draft box.

There were a number of suggestions on a previous post that didn’t work for me. I just powered off and started back up and it removes it.

I also had to power off and restart to get rid of the large white box with “DRAFT” at the bottom of my email screen. Nothing else worked. Why does this happen??

It helps if you just switch off your device, wait ten seconds then turn it on again. It really works. I had this same problem but cleared it.

Power off and on. The annoying tab disappear.

I’ve experienced same irritating dilemma. Only “quick” fix for me is to “Power Down” the iPad, count to five or 10, restart iPad & problem is solved. Hope this suggestion helps.

All you have to do is to turn the whole thing off, wait ten seconds then turn it back on. It clears the white oblong draft box.

In reply to Warren 1927, just switch off your device wait for ten seconds then turn it on again. You will see that the box has gone.

It has happened to me but when I did this it went away.
