iOS 15 Siri bug with default music player

My music subscription is with Apple Music yet my default podcast app is Spotify which I am a freemium user.

why is this important? Because in apples infinite wisdom (sarcasm) siri now uses Spotify (not Apple Music) when I ask to play music.

to be clear I want my default podcast app = Spotify

and my default music app = Apple Music (which I pay for)

Apple lost the podcast war to Spotify - all my top podcasts are exclusive to Spotify. I’m forced to use Spotify for podcasts. Siri learns this and then thinks I also want Spotify for ad pumped music.

THIS NEEDS A POINT RELEASE UPDATE as soon as possible. I can’t be the only one infuriated by this???!

While Apple may have brought back or added support for Siri with Spotify, they completely forgot or disregarded user experience for those that use both. In my personal experience I’ve concluded Siri can only be used with one or the other due to a bug.

When you allow Siri to access your Spotify data the first time you attempt to use Siri with Spotify, it associates all future music requests to Spotify. One would reasonably assume that if you wanted to revert this, then preventing Siri use for Spotify (disable in Settings) would default all requests back to Apple Music, but it doesn’t. Instead, regardless of my wording (“play ‘x’ in Apple Music”) Siri repetitively prompts me to allow Siri access to my Spotify data. To get Siri working again with Apple Music I had to delete Spotify and reinstall.
