There is a lot missing from your question, which makes me think there is more to what you're asking.

Some of the gap is in how much - there are different approaches depending on whether you're transferring £1 or £10,000

Additionally, are the fund transferring between your own accounts, or is one side some other individual? a company?

For small sums between individuals, you can use something simple such as AppleCash, PayPal, or other personal payment systems.

Any bank in England should be able to handle a wire transfer to any other bank anywhere in the world (including the US). Wire transfers are often preferred for large transfers (e.g. you're not going to do it for that £1).

There are also international banks that have outlets in both countries. If this is something you're planning on doing repeatedly, it might be worth opening an account (or accounts) with such a bank. This will streamline the process over time, but may be overkill for a one-off.

So, like I said, there's a lot behind the question that makes a direct answer impossible.
