Why won’t my iPhone 6 update past 12.5.5?

Your iPhone 6 will not update beyond iOS version 12.5.5 because it does not have the necessary hardware to run higher versions efficiently. You will need a newer model iPhone to update to iOS version 14/15.

You are correct. The iPhone 6s and newer models will update to iOS versions 14/15.

Thank you so much. Is it the 6s that will update to 14/15? Cause my son has one I thought was the same but obviously isn’t cause ha is updated.
