iCloud Reminders not opening in Chrome

Hi there,

I am finding that when using any of my devices with Google Chrome, I am no longer able to open iCloud Reminders.

I get the following error:

This error opens up almost immediately once I have logged in. If the browser is already cached and logged in, as soon as the page has loaded, the error comes up.

Just to clarify,

  • This is happening on Windows based devices.
  • I have tried this on multiple devices, cleared cookies, cache etc. - same error every time.
  • Tried on a completely fresh, vanilla Windows system - same error.
  • Ensured Chrome is fully up to date.
  • Tried using Chrome which is not signed into a Google Account.
  • Tried using Microsoft Edge - same error.
  • Tried using Chrome and Microsoft Edge in Incognito Mode - same error.

The URL I am accessing is:

https://www.icloud.com/#reminders

I have 2 Form Factor ID enabled. This has been happening for several weeks now and there is no way around this.

The full error is:

Hey talksrm,

It appears that when you try to log into the iCloud website for your Reminders, you see a message that it has stopped responding. You've already taken some great steps. Does this happen if you load the general iCloud website versus the Reminders link? We want to see if that reproduces the same error.

If the issue continues and after all the steps taken, you can contact Apple Support to look further into this with you here: Contact Apple Support

Best wishes.

Hello claire504,

Thanks for your reply.

In answer to your questions...

  • It does not happen if I load the general iCloud website versus the Reminders link.

But some further info you may find helpful...

  • When the error shows, after you close the error, it reverts you back to the iCloud general page, however the URL is still: https://www.icloud.com/#reminders
  • From the reverted iCloud general page as per the above point, if you try to manually click on the Reminders tile, you get the same error again.
  • This problem is happening on multiple browsers, but also browsers within the MacOS environment. Thought I should point this out as this is not a Windows specific browser issue. Obviously in a MacOS environment, you can get around this as the Reminders app is installed onto the system so opening the app works with no issues. Similarly, I am able to open Reminders app on iOS with no issues. It is just when using a web browser.

Many thanks.
