iPad 2 laminate screen vs new iPad basic

Hi looking to buy new iPad and don’t need the extra features of the new Air version

however I also have an iPad 5 which doesn’t have my current Air 2's laminate screen and I dislike the 'touch' of it.

Cant find any comments about the feel of the screens comparing the two new models.

has the non laminate screens come on since the iPad 5 or will I be disappointed?

unfortunately I’m unable to get any hands on experience
